HISTORY

Granville County United Way was incorporated in 1988 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Oxford, North Carolina, dedicated to mobilizing local resources to support health and human services in the area.

In 2023, the organization expanded its reach beyond Granville County to also serve Person County, reflecting an ongoing commitment to meet needs in neighboring areas.

MISSION STATEMENT

To improve lives by mobilizing the financial resources of businesses, employees, and individuals in support of direct service programs at funded agencies that measurably improve people's lives.

OUR VISION

To unite people and resources to build a stronger, healthier Granville County.

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

Diversity and inclusion are essential to achieving the mission of Granville County United Way, living our values, and advancing the common good.

We are committed to fostering a culture that embraces the broadest definition of diversity — recognizing and valuing the unique backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, abilities, and identities that make each person who they are.

GCUW is dedicated to maintaining an inclusive environment within our organization and throughout the community we serve. Our officers, directors, committee members, employees, volunteers, and those we serve are selected and supported on a completely non-discriminatory basis, without regard to race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, age, gender, gender identity or expression, disability, sexual orientation, veteran status, familial status, or socioeconomic status.

We believe stronger communities are built when everyone is valued, respected, and given the opportunity to thrive.
