Community Services:

Connect Granville: a grassroots effort to digitally connect the residents of Granville County in the event of an emergency, making us able to receive broadcast messages through Facebook, Twitter, email or cell. A Granville County United Way initiative, Connect Granville has partnered with Granville County Emergency Services to notify local residents of the potential for bad weather, lost children and adults, single-family fires accidents, etc. Connect Granville notifications are posted by Granville County Emergency Management and the Granville County Fire Marshall.

NC 211: NC 211 is an information and referral service United Way of North Carolina provides. Families and individuals can call 2-1-1 or 1-888-892-1162 to receive free and confidential information on health and human services within their community.

Made 4 Me: Builds custom adaptations for the special needs community using cardboard as the primary building material. Phone: 833-MADE4ME/833.623.3463.

Masonic Home for Children/Oxford: Community Support Center: supports children in troubled circumstances across North Carolina with the collaboration of Granville County United Way, Parents As Teachers (PATS), American Red Cross,  FGV Smart Start, Baptist Children's Home Foster Care and Adoption Service, and the Granville Education Foundation. The Community Support Center works with other organizations to best determine the current needs of families. Crisis Needs: Food, Clothing and Shelter

Area Congregations in Ministry (ACIM) provides food and non-food items to Granville County residents at their point of need. Ph: 919-690-0961

Butner Church Council Food Pantry: assists with food, gently used clothing, personal hygiene items, and baby supplies for residents of the Butner/Stem, N.C. area. Ph: 919-575-4303

American Red Cross: provides immediate disaster relief to anyone affected by disaster - natural disaster, single-family fire, etc. - regardless of age, gender or cultural background.

Safe Haven of Person County: serves victims/survivors and families of domestic and sexual violence with emergency shelter and advocacy. 336.330.0331

The Christian Help Center: assists Person County residents in need. 336.599.6070

Back Pack Buddies: provides food to students who go without while at home.

BackPack Pals of Person County: provides weekend foods for at-risk students during the school year. 336.599.6070

Lifeline Outreach: provides food and shelter to homeless women and children in our community.

Educational Services:

Boy Scouts: provides high-quality youth education through character development, citizenship training, and respect for others.

Girls Scouts: provides a program that helps all girls from every background develop the confidence, determination, and skills needed to thrive today and reach full individual potential tomorrow.

Granville County 4-H: provides an informal education program for youth ages 5-19 and adults dedicated to growth and development of participants from all racial, cultural and social backgrounds.

Person County 4-H: offers a variety of clubs and special interest groups to youth in Person County ages 5-18. 336.599.1195

Franklin, Granville, Vance Partnership for Children/Smart Start: ensures that all children enter school healthy and ready to succeed.Ph: 252-433-9110

Parents As Teachers (PAT): provides home visits and parent education to families with children ages birth to five, targeting children at-risk for difficulties in school. PAT services are focused on nurturing positive parenting, promoting healthy child development and school readiness, and supporting parent and family well-being. Ph: 919-725-9875

Granville Education Foundation: dedicated to enhancing student performance, The Granville Education Foundation provides resources and enrichment programs for the students of Granville County Schools. Ph: 919-693-7047

OUMC Summer Literacy Program: This initiative aims to reduce the loss of reading skills during the summer break for children (first through fourth grades) already below grade level in reading.

Long Memorial United Methodist Church Summer Literacy Initiative: This initiative provides literacy instruction to rising 1st and 2nd graders who need help with reading.  336.599.1193

Person County Sheriff's Office Summer Camp: this four week camp is free to rising 6th graders and rising 9th graders. 

 

Elderly Services:

Granville Nutrition Program: provides a nutrition site that serves both congregate site and home- delivered meals at lunch to individuals over 60 years old. This program includes nutrition education and support services for seniors.

Health Services:

Harold Sherman Adult Day Center provides care to elderly, mentally impaired, and disabled individuals and enables them to remain in their homes as long as possible while providing their caregivers with a much-needed and deserved break from providing care.

Income Services:

Financial Literacy Through The Lifespan: provides new programs that address financial literacy needs in audiences ranging from teens to those preparing for retirement.
